What we collect, and why.

Helios is faction operations software for BRM5 communities, operated by Helios Systems Development Group. This page describes exactly what data Helios holds. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What Helios stores
Your Helios account. A username and an internally generated account identifier, so you can sign in to the desktop app and be recognised by your faction.
Faction card data. Anything your faction creates inside Helios: roster and roles, operations, tactical plans and uploaded map images, ORBAT structure, vehicles, radio channel definitions, and — if your faction enables it — simulated medical state. This is game content, not real medical information, and it is visible to members of your faction card.
Purchases. When you buy access, Stripe handles the payment and sends us the resulting subscription status, the billing email you entered at checkout, and a Stripe customer reference. Helios never receives or stores your card number.
License keys. The key code, which plan it is, when it expires, and which faction card it was redeemed onto.
What Helios does not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not run ad or analytics trackers on this site.
- We do not read your microphone audio. Voice traffic is peer-to-peer between faction members and is not recorded or stored by Helios.
- We do not store your payment card details at any point.
Who else is involved
Helios relies on two providers, each of which handles data under their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
How long it is kept
Faction card data is kept while the card exists; deleting a card removes its contents. License and purchase records are kept as long as needed for billing history and support.
Your choices
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and its data to be deleted. Requests are handled by the contact below. Deleting a faction card also deletes the operational data inside it, for every member of that card.
Children
Helios is not directed at children under 13, and accounts should not be created by them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change. Continuing to use Helios after that means the updated policy applies.
